Agnes M. Lee, 99, formerly of Rushsylvania passed away Wednesday evening, June 3, 2015 at Heartland of Bellefontaine.
She was born in Champaign County on February 24, 1916 to the late Orville and Ida Mae (Parsons) Frost. Agnes married William D. “Bill” Lee on February 22, 1939 in Urbana and he preceded her in death on June 14, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her brothers & sisters-in-law, Ben and Thelma Frost, Donn Frost, Wayne and Ruth Frost; sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Bill Crabtree, Dean Frost, Marty and Hollis Keith and Thelma and Virgil Alexander.
Agnes was a 1934 graduate of Kingscreek-Salem High School and was President of her class. She worked at the J&J IGA Supermarket in Rushsylvania for 30 years. Agnes was a member of Rushsylvania Church of Christ, where she was a member of the Ladies Aide and taught Sunday school classes for the children. Agnes enjoyed watching and cheering on the Cincinnati Reds.
Agnes is survived her sons, Donn (Helen) Lee of Cedar Creek, Texas and Murray “Ray” Lee of Huntsville; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Ruby Frost of West Liberty and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Agnes will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine from 2-4pm. Pastors Lynn Cleaveland and Craig Howie will officiate the funeral service at 10am on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rushsylvania Cemetery.
