Albert Johnstone

Albert “Syd” Johnstone, age 86, of Zanesfield, Ohio passed away at 11:11 P.M. Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska November 2, 1930, to the late Albert S. and Alice (Figlianna) Johnstone. Along with his parents a son, Tracy Conner preceded Syd in death.

On September 12, 1981, he married Charlotte (Pratt) Johnstone in Kentucky and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Juanita (Marvin) Veenendaal of Mechanicsville, Iowa; a son, Terry Conner of Florence, Arizona; twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Syd was a truck driver for forty years. He and Char attended the Shilo Chapel in Marysville, Ohio. Syd lived life to the fullest. In his younger years he enjoyed archery and loved to hunt. In Syd’s later years, he took up needlework and played card and board games.  All who loved Syd will miss him.

Pastor Jim Davis will officiate a memorial service at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The arrangements are in care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
