Alice May Clapp, 87, of West Liberty passed away Saturday evening, August 1, 2015 at Green Hills Care Center. She was born in Shelbyville, Indiana on May 7, 1928 to the late Roy and Edna (Hamilton) Moody. Alice married Hubert Clapp on January 17, 1948 and he preceded her in death on May 15, 1990. She was also preceded in death by daughter Karen Sue Clapp.
A 1947 graduate of Urbana High School, Alice was a homemaker and member of Kingscreek United Methodist Church. She was active in the Order of Eastern Star and Quilting Club. Alice loved sewing, working in her garden and, most of all, her beautiful flower beds.
Alice is survived by her children: Peggy (John) Fairchild of West Liberty, Marlies (Robert) Butler of Urbana and David (Paula) Clapp of Urbana; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, West Liberty on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 4-7pm. Pastor David Brown will officiate the funeral service at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 11am. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
