Alice Maier

Alice O. Maier, 73, of Huntsville, passed away at her residence on Thursday, August 27, 2015.

She was born in Bellefontaine on January 3, 1942 to the late Glenn O. and Elizabeth T. (Taylor) Outland.

Survivors include David F. Maier; her children, Devery (Frank) Peterson of Statesville, NC, David F Maier II of Huntsville and Doug (Lisa) Maier of Hilliard, OH; grandchildren, Zach, Claire, Gabi, Skylar and Madeline; step grandchildren, Mandy, Paige and Drew; a brother, Jim (Carol) Outland of Carol Stream, Illinois, a nephew, Brian Outland; and a niece, Heather Jablonski, special friend and caregiver Deone Varian.

A 1960 graduate of Huntsville High School and a graduate of The Ohio State University, Alice taught fifth grade all of her 28 years for the Bellefontaine City Schools where she retired in 1996.

She was a member of the Huntsville United Presbyterian Church, Ohio Retired Teachers Association and Logan County Teachers Association.

Alice enjoyed entertaining card clubs in her home, and keeping in contact with other retired teachers from Western Elementary.

Pastor Ben Beres will officiate a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Huntsville United Presbyterian Church, 6490 Fruit Street, Huntsville. Friends may call on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 4 - 7 p.m. at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 North Main Street, Bellefontaine. Burial will be in the Huntsville Cemetery.
