Alice Mae Ricketts, 75, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at her residence Thursday, December 5, 2013.
She was born in Bellefontaine July 5, 1938, a daughter of the late Wilson Michael Miller and Bessie Leland Elliott. She was also was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Duane Ricketts; a sister, Lura Jean Roth and nieces Lori Roth McGee and Christine Stephan.
Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl (Scott) Chamberlain of West Liberty, Ohio; a son, Randy Ricketts of Bellefontaine; grandsons, Ricky (Kari) Ricketts of Bellefontaine, and Aaron (Whitney) Chamberlain of Navarre, Florida; two great-granddaughters, Maille and Avani Ricketts of Bellefontaine; sisters, Martha Albert of West Liberty, Helen Brown of Port Charlotte, Florida, Maxine (Don) Smith of Lima, Ohio, Eloise Shirk and Sally (Walt) Stephan of Bellefontaine; brothers, Mike (Connie) Miller of West Liberty and Dave (Bonnie) Miller of Rushsylvania, Ohio along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice was a familiar face around downtown Bellefontaine, working at Family Pharmacy, Hartley and Nicholl, and Winans Bakery. When not working Alice enjoyed cooking, baking and sharing recipes. She was also a talented seamstress. She devoted a great deal of time and passion to family genealogy. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her two grandsons.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at the First Lutheran Church in Bellefontaine Saturday, December 14, 2013, at 11 A.M. with Pastors Jonathan Bull and Jim Morehouse officiating. Interment will be at a later date at the East Liberty Cemetery in East Liberty, Ohio.
The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine assisted the family with the arrangements.
