Allene Sims

Allene R. “Cookie” Sims, 71, of Bellefontaine passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She was born in Bellefontaine on March 3, 1945 to the late Alfonso and Mary Thelma (Ladd) Breaston.

Cookie is survived by her children, James A. “Jamie” Sims of Lima, Damon J. Sims of Bellefontaine, Tracy (Debbie) Sims of Waverly, Ohio, Loretta Sims of Bellefontaine, Allene N. Cook of Pennsylvania, and Anetra (Mario) Sims – Byrd of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Karen Purnell of Bellefontaine; brother, James Breaston of Bellefontaine; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Ms. Peggy Roberts of Bellefontaine.

A son, Robert “Bobby” Sims III, and a sister, Della Gaskins preceded her in death.

Cookie enjoyed listening to classic Motown music, watching movies, going shopping, playing the card game “Tonk,” and spending time with her family. In her younger years, she loved to dance.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
