Allie (Metz) Diehl, 91, of Marysville, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013. She was born December 17, 1921 in Logan County Ohio, a daughter of the late Milton and Lenora (Barnhart) Metz. She was also preceded in death by a sister Loraine and brother Earl.
In August 1957, she married Robert Leroy Diehl and he preceded her in death in 1992.
She is survived by sons, Roy (Susan) Diehl of Albany, New York and Ruh (Vivian) Diehl of Hilliard, Ohio; grandchildren, Adalaide, Suzanna, Genevieve, Zackery and Hannah Diehl; brothers, Arthur Metz of Bellefontaine, Ohio, George Metz of Lakeview, Ohio, and a sister, Charlene Mitchell of Bellefontaine.
Allie was of the Baha’i Faith and a Baha’i Pioneer to China and Fiji. A member of the Marysville YMCA, she was also a Toastmasters Keynote Speaker. Allie was an adventurer and loved the fact that she went parasailing at age 83, hang gliding at age 89 and skydiving at age 90.
She was a beautician and worked as home health aide with Interim Health Care in Marysville up until her death.
A graveside service will be held Monday, April 8, 2013 at 11:30 A.M. at the Zanesfield Cemetery in Zanesfield, Ohio. Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 A.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine prior to the graveside service.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Union County Family YMCA at 2 P.M. in Marysville, Ohio.
