Andrew James Kaczar

Andrew James Kaczar, 26, of Ft. Cavazos, TX, formerly of Huntsville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at his Ft. Cavazos residence.

He was born in Marysville, Ohio on April 20, 1998, the son of John H. Kaczar of Huntsville, OH and Lora L. (Johnson) Kaczar of Huntsville, OH.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Gabrielle “Gabby” (Longstreth) Kaczar, two sisters, Ashley (Eric Cramer) Knight, and Allie Kaczar, paternal grandmother, Sally Kaczar, maternal grandparents, Frank & Judy Bozman, three uncles, Ed (Tiffany) Johnson, Jamie (Renea) Beaver, and Jay Gressner, an aunt, Darlene (Al) Walker, a nephew, Dawson Snipes, a niece, Peyton Cramer, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Richard Kaczar in 2017.

Andrew always had a very creative and imaginative mind, even from a young age. He enjoyed art and throughout school, he won awards for his art and other works. He enjoyed working out on the base and also gaming. He tried to convince his parents to allow him to enlist with the U.S. Army his sophomore year in high school, but they made him wait it out. He was very proud of his military service and felt honored to carry on the Kaczar name through his service. Andrew had a fun and goofy personality, but wasn’t always quick to allow it to show through.

Andrew graduated from Indian Lake High School in 2017. He took his oath of enlistment in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman in 2020 and arrived in Fort Moore, Georgia on January 12th 2021. SPC Kaczar excelled as an Infantryman and graduated from Infantry One Station Unit Training in Bravo Company, 1-19th Infantry Battalion in June 2021. SPC Kaczar was assigned to 1st Platoon, Lean Apache Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, and arrived at Fort Cavazos in July 2021. During SPC Kaczar's time in Lean Apache Company he served as a Bradley Fighting Vehicle Driver, Grenadier, and Automatic Rifleman. SPC Kaczar supported the unit during four Team Live Fire Exercises, three Squad Live Fire Exercises, two Company Live Fires, three Bradley Gunneries, and two deployments to the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California. SPC Kaczar's awards and decorations, the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal.

Pastor Greg Menssen will officiate a funeral service on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m in the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Monday, at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow the service in Huntsville Cemetery.
