Ann Bishop Kennedy, 97, of Ellijay, Georgia and formerly of Bellefontaine passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the North Georgia Medical Center in Ellijay, Georgia. She was born June 16, 1917 to her late parents Charles and Louise Bishop in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
Mrs. Kennedy was a 1935 graduate of Bellefontaine High School. She worked as a telephone operator for 36 years for the United Telephone Company. She traveled extensively after retirement, and particularly enjoyed telling the story of her trip to the Great Wall of China.
In Bellefontaine, she was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, worked with the blood bank, and enjoyed the Senior Center. For the past 10 years, Ann lived in Georgia near her niece, at Cameron Hall in Ellijay, Georgia.
She is preceded in death by her husband Knight Kennedy; sister Coreda (Reda) Yates and her husband Joseph Yates; brother-in-law George Kennedy and his wife Elizabeth Kennedy; and nephew Karl Ritzler.
Survivors include a niece Claire Kennedy Ritzler of Ellijay, Georgia; a nephew Richard (& Susan) Kennedy of LaRue; a cousin Carol (& Junior) Jones of Bellefontaine; five great nieces and nephews; 11 great-great nieces and nephews; and a great-great-great nephew.
Pastor Rob Fulton will officiate a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the Eichholtz, Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine, Ohio. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
