Austin Lee Houser, 15, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012 as the result of a pedestrian/ automobile accident near Rushsylvania, Ohio.

Austin was born November 4, 1996, and is survived by his mother, Ellenna Houser and step father, Jeffery W. McCafferty of Rushsylvania.

Austin is also survived by his brother, Jeffery H. McCafferty and his sister Brooke Houser, both of Rushsylvania; maternal grandparents, Steven (Jeanne) Houser of Lakeview, Ohio; maternal grandmother, Carol Houser of West Mansfield, Ohio; paternal grandfather, Jefferson McCafferty of Belle Center, Ohio; great grandfather, Robert M. Houser and great grandmother, Helen Siebeneck, both of Bellefontaine, Ohio; an aunt, Yvonne (Leon) Schmucker of Rushsylvania; uncles, Jacob (Charnell) Coil of West Mansfield, and Floyd Coil of Pataskala, Ohio; great uncles, David (MaryAnn) Houser of California and Arizona, Ronald J. (Barb) Houser of Bellefontaine, Tony (Teresa) Siebeneck of Sylvania, Ohio, Carl (Marsha) Siebeneck of Bellefontaine; great aunts, Linda (Terry) Parsons of California and Sandra (Bob) Lambert of Grove City, Ohio, Pat Lautenschlager of Columbus, Ohio, Mary Teresa McKinley of Johnstown, Ohio, Cathy (David) Mobley of Rushsylvania and Mary Fogle-Kise of West Mansfield; cousins, Tabitha and Trent Schmucker, Chance and Cassondra Coil, Stephanie (Craig) Steinhoff of Arizona, Melissa and Clint Steinhoff, William (Randi) Houser of Florida, Tracey Jo (Jamie) Griffin, Jessica, Lane, Cody, and Chance Griffin, Ronnie (Ricki) Houser and Caleb, Cole, and Caylin Houser, all of Bellefontaine, Kathy (Lamarr), Olivia and Tavus Deslandes, all of Hilliard, Ohio, and Emily Lambert of Grove City, Ohio, Josh, Angel, Michael, Nick, Dustin, Elizabeth, Aaron, Ian, Amber, Shane, Paul, Matthew, Emily and Luke, Jessica Ann Coil.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Joan Houser and an aunt, Carol Ann Coil.

Austin was currently a sophomore at Benjamin Logan High School where he was a member of the football team. He loved football and enjoyed playing all sports. He worked part-time at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Bellefontaine, and also helped local farmers bailing hay in the summertime.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine with Pastor Lynn Cleaveland officiating. Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home in Bellefontaine. Interment will be at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio following the funeral service.
