Baird A. Wilson, age 99.93, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine.
He was born August 22, 1914, in Hardin County Ohio to the late Willis H. and Hallie M. (Baird) Wilson.
On February 10, 1935, he married the former Pauline E. Rosebrook and she preceded him in death February 26, 1969. On February 23, 1971, he married Lola Mae (Vance) Park and she preceded him in death January 14, 1999. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Clifford Wilson and two sisters, Katharine Butler and Flora Treadwell.
Surviving is his wife, Mable (Kinney) Watt Wilson, whom he married May 10, 2009; daughters, Sharon D. (William) Wilson of Little River, South Carolina and Brenda R. (Randy) Diurba of Warren, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jeff (Georgette) Wilson, Leigh Wilson both of Little River South Carolina, and Kristi (Brad) Schrimpf of Jefferson City, Missouri; four great-grandchildren, Sarah and Matt Wilson and Tyler and Jacob Schrimpf, and several nieces and nephews.
Baird grew up on a farm near Mt. Victory in Hardin County and later moved to Huntsville, Ohio where he graduated from Huntsville High School and for several years was the oldest member of his graduating class. In 1953 the family moved to the West Liberty, Ohio area where he farmed for many years.
From 1961 to 1985 (24 years) he served on the board of the Logan County Co-Op Power and Light. He was a member of the Huntsville United Presbyterian Church and was a 4-H Leader. He loved to farm and was a hard worker.
Pastor Ben Beres will officiate a 2:00 P.M. funeral service Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.
