Barbara Lee Butler, 72, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, went to be with the Lord Monday, September 12, 2011, at 11:29 P.M. at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born July 8, 1939, in Big Springs, Ohio a daughter of the late Jess and Hattie May (Taylor) Cavinder. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Jim and Gene Cavinder; sisters, Lillian Rumer and Koneta Faulder and her step-mother, Bonnie Gillenwater Cavinder.
She was a cook at the Red Lantern Restaurant for twenty years and a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church. Barbara enjoyed drinking her coffee, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by daughters, Phyllis (Kevin) Brown and Tammy (Chris) Burkhammer, both of Bellefontaine; sons, Frank Butler of Marysville, Ohio and Donnie Butler of Bellefontaine; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Ron (Karen) Cavinder of Quincy, Ohio; sisters, Alberta (Jim) Kennaw of Indian Lake, Ohio, Phyllis (Willie) Ballou of Sidney, Ohio, Ramona Core of Arizona and Judy (Bill) Briley of Wapakoneta, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Julie Butler of Bellefontaine; a brother-in-law, Jim Rumer of Bellefontaine and numerous nieces & nephews.
Pastor Greg Haisley will conduct the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 16, 2011, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are Thursday, September 15, 2011, from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. Interment will take place at the Rea Cemetery in Bloom Center, Ohio.
