Barbara H. Coons

Barbara H. Coons, 74, of Columbus, passed away at 11:18 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Arlington Court Health & Rehabilitation Center in Upper Arlington, Ohio. She was born on May 9, 1950, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, a daughter of the late John Samuel “Jack” Hover and Patricia (Pryor) Hover.

Barbara is survived by her son Justin (Molly) Coons; three grandchildren, Devin Coons, Casey Coons, and Miles Meers-Coons; her former husband, Jerry Coons; a cousin, John Boerstler; a niece, Jennifer Hover; and two nephews, James Hover, and John Hover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James A. Hover, and David A. Hover.

The majority of Barbara’s professional career was devoted to computer programming for The Limited in Columbus, Ohio. 

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Inurnment will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery in Bellefontaine, Ohio at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Barbara’s memory, to the Alzheimer’s Association Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
