Barbara Jo Jenkins

Barbara Jo Jenkins, age 83, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, December 26, 2019 at her residence.

She was born in Springfield, Ohio February 2, 1936, to the late James and Leah (Farthing) Severs.

On July 24, 1955, she married Harold “Scoop” Jenkins who worked for the Bellefontaine Examiner for over forty years. He preceded her in death December 12, 2007. A son, Dennis James Jenkins and a sister, Linda Stires also preceded Barbara in death.

She is survived by her children, Lori (Dennis) Scott of Franklin, Tennessee, and Bill Jenkins of Bellefontaine; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Patty Messner of Bellefontaine and Becky (Mark) Bendit of North Carolina; a brother, Jim (Pam) Severs of Loudon, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was a manager of AAA in Bellefontaine for many years. After her retirement, she worked for Family Pharmacy. Barbara loved to sing, and play the piano. She spent time playing cards with her sisters and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

A private burial will take place at a later date.

The arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
