Benjamin J. Peters, 55, passed away Friday morning, July 1, 2011, at his home with his family by his side in Marysville, Ohio. Ben was born September 1, 1955 in Bellefontaine, Ohio, to the late James D. Peters and Miriam L. Peters.
After graduating from Bellefontaine High School in 1973, Ben worked in real estate for his father at the James Peters Agency, becoming the youngest real estate broker in America. Following his successful real estate career in 1985, until his passing, Ben was proudly employed by Honda of America as a Staffing Engineer in the Purchasing Division.
Ben was a lifelong member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine, and a member of the BPOE #132 Lodge. Outside of his family, one of his proudest moments was bowling a perfect 300 at T.P. Lanes November 20, 2001. In his free time, Ben was an avid poker player and a diehard Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds fan.
Ben was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Jill K. Peters; his four children, Chasity P. Garling of Lewis Center, Ohio, Benjamin M. Peters of Canton, Ohio, Natalie C. Peters of San Francisco, California, and Emily S. Peters of Marysville, Ohio; his four brothers, Dana Peters of Gahanna, Ohio, Dr. Jim Peters of Colleyville Texas, Edward Peters of Bellefontaine, and Joe Peters of Austin, Texas, and five grandchildren, Lainey, Sophie, Rowan Garling, Haily and Peyton Peters.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine with Gene Marine officiating. Calling hours are Tuesday, July 5, 2011 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
