Bernadine Keller

Bernadine Keller, 88, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away Monday June 17, 2013, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

She was born December 17, 1924, in Hardin County Ohio to the late Bernard and Mildred (Crook) Smith. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Laurea Ansley.

On June 18, 1949, she married David C. Keller in Kenton, Ohio and he survives along with their children, Ann (Michael) Hillman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mary (Richard) Schoeler of Peninsula, Ohio and D.C. (Lisa) Keller of Belle Center; six grandchildren, David, Hanna, Christina, Ben, Christian and Madison. On June 18, 2013, Bernadine and David would have celebrated their sixty fourth wedding anniversary.

Bernadine worked as a bookkeeper when she and David were first married. After the birth of their first child, she became a full time homemaker and excelled in baking, especially pies, much to the delight of her family. An active member of the United Presbyterian Church in Belle Center, she taught Sunday school and participated in many aspects of the church. She was a member of Eastern Star and enjoyed reading, playing bridge, singing and reading her Bible. Her husband and children will miss being so well loved and cared for by her.

Calling hours will be held at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center Wednesday, June 19, 2013, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Pastor Jim Burton will officiate an 11:00 A.M. funeral service Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the United Presbyterian Church in Belle Center. Interment will be at 2:30 P.M. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the Bellefontaine City Cemetery in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
