Bernard Shirk

Bernard Lowell “Bernie” Shirk, 87, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 8:36 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Logan Acres Care Center. He was born in Raymond, Ohio on February 5, 1928 to the late Tom George and Nancy Mardotha (Garner) Shirk. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Becky Hooley; two sisters, Virginia Warren and Mary Parker; and two brothers, Rex Shirk & Thomas Shirk.

On April 9, 1950, Bernie married his wife of 65 years, Patricia L. Johnson in Huntsville, Ohio, and she survives along with their two children, Kathy (Richard) Kelly and Stacy (Arleen) Shirk; four grandchildren, Tyson Shirk, Carly Davis, Ashley Houser and Tessa Gilmer; six great grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Shirk; and many nieces and nephews.

A member of the Nazarene Church in Bellefontaine, Bernie retired from Thompson Electric following 20+ years of service as an electrician.

Pastor Curtis Randolph will officiate a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December, 4, 2015 in Huntsville Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.
