Bessie Dell Wilson, 96, of Belle Center, Ohio passed away Thursday evening, July 18, 2013 at Hardin Hills Health Center in Kenton, Ohio.
She was born in Paxton, Illinois September 6, 1916, to the late Samuel M. and Ethel Mae (White) Strong, and moved to Ohio at the age of three.
On May 15, 1934, she married Paul A. Wilson in Huntsville, Ohio and he preceded her in death May 2, 1996. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, a great-granddaughter, Melody Jane Wilson and a great-great-grandchild.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Ann Wilson of Kenton; two sons, Richard Wilson of Huntsville and James Wilson of Reidsville, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Dennis Bradley, David Bradley, Deborah Redding, Halley Wilson, Rebecca Wilson, James Wilson and John Wilson; numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Bessie was a 1934 graduate of Belle Center High School and was a member of the Lawrence Valley Grange for more than fifty years. She was a member of the Belle Center United Methodist Church and was a volunteer at Hardin Memorial Hospital with the Sewing Guild. Bessie enjoyed baking, crocheting, crafts, gardening and attending the Morning Circle meetings.
Calling hours will be held at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center Monday, July 22, 2013 from 5 to 8 P.M. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at 1 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Smith officiating. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
