Betsy Matthews

Betsy J. Watkins Matthews, age 70, of Winamac, Indiana passed away Thursday morning, May 8, 2014 at the Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac.

She was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio October 8, 1943, to the late Marion F. and Eva Gladys (Groves) Watkins. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter Megan O. Matthews, a brother, John C. Watkins and a sister, Betty Jean Watkins.

Betsy was employed by Pulaski County in Indiana, where she was the Auditor for eight years, Treasurer for six years and the Clerk of Courts for four years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Bellefontaine.

Betsy is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Dawn and Todd Schmicker of Winamac, Indiana; four grandchildren, Whitney, Wyatt, Caleb and Cierra; a brother, Glenn W. Watkins of Kenton, Ohio and a sister, Ramona Harris of Bellefontaine, Ohio.

Pastor Jonathan Bull will officiate the funeral service Sunday, May 11, 2014 at 1 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.

A private interment will be at the Bellefontaine Cemetery in Bellefontaine.
