Bette Jane Stryker

Bette Jane Stryker, 98, of Quincy, passed away at 3:35 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Landings of Sidney in Sidney, Ohio. She was born in Quincy, Ohio on April 25, 1926, a daughter of the late Marion Lewis Newman and Clara Viola (Kendall) Newman.

On May 14, 1952, Bette married Charles Corwin Stryker in DeGraff, Ohio and he preceded her in death on July 12, 2004. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Ann Turner, Phyllis Smith, and Lois Weber; and six brothers, Carl Newman, Cecil Newman, Wilbur Newman, Gerald Newman, Robert Newman, and Lewis Newman Jr.

Bette is survived by her two daughters, Paula (Charles) Bell, and Fran (William) Slat; three grandchildren, Jeffrey (Julie) Slat, Joe (Jennifer) Slat, and Jason (Molli) Bell; five great grandchildren, Nolan Slat, Cecelia Slat, Madison Bell, Corwin Bell, and Carston Bell; a great great grandson, Zeke Bell; and several nieces and nephews.

Pastor Mark Vincent will officiate a private graveside service in Fairview Cemetery in Quincy, Ohio at the convenience of the family.
