Betty J. Alloway, 83, of Waynesfield, Ohio, passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 at Physician’s Choice Hospital in Fremont, Ohio. She was born September 10, 1928 in Zanesfield, Ohio, to the late Orville and Helen L. (Bozman) Oliver.
On October 11, 1947 she married Gail Alloway Jr. in Kentucky, and he preceded her in death July 4, 2002. Also preceding her in death was a brother, Carl Oliver; 4 sisters, Mildred A. “Millie” Miller Bruce, Esther E. Smith, Mary I. Bruce, and Janice H. Terrill.
Betty is survived by two sons, John D. Alloway of West Liberty, Ohio and Jeffery L. (Eve) Alloway of Green Springs, Ohio; two daughters, Sharon K. Andrews of Reno, Nevada and Kathy S. (Roger) Garmin of Florence, Arizona; a brother, Raleigh O. (Phyllis) Oliver of Rushsylvania, Ohio; eleven grandchildren; one step-grandson; thirteen great grandchildren and three great step grandchildren.
A 1946 graduate of Monroe High School and Valedictorian of her class, Betty was a homemaker and the owner and operator of BJ Upholstery for many years, first in Fremont, California and later in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was a member, along with her husband, of the Gold Wing Road Run Association Motorcycle Club and the Gold Wing Tour Association.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate the 1:00 P.M. funeral service Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where friends may call two hours prior to the service.
Interment will be at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio at a later date.
