Betty B. Collum, age 91, of Belle Center, Ohio passed away Saturday morning October 27, 2018, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Belle Center August 18, 1927, to the late Raymond and Reba Mae (Ewing) Henry.
Betty married James Elmer Collum March 5, 1947 in Rushsylvania, Ohio, and he preceded her in death April 22, 2010. She was also preceded in death by brothers Carl “Buzz” Henry and Edison Henry, and sisters Carol Howell, Marjorie Cushwa, and Mary Lou Thomas.
Betty is survived by her children, Richard “Dick” (Kim) Collum of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Nancy (Earl) LeVan of Bellefontaine, and Kimberly (Scott Storm) Reames of Zanesfield, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Lance (Jenny) Collum, Brent (Amber) Collum, Timothy (Kim) LeVan, Jonathan (Jonna) LeVan, Brandy (Kevin) Parks, Brian (Danielle) Reames, Max (Miranda) Reames, and Samantha Stephens; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Hempy of Waldo, Ohio; a brother, Robert Henry of Rushsylvania; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Bill and Bev Blair family, Phil and Judy Pockras family, and Rory LeVan.
A graduate of Belle Center High School, Betty worked many years at the Belle Center Creamery and then went to work at Westinghouse. She was a member of the Belle Center United Methodist Church and was a devoted homemaker. Betty enjoyed sitting on her porch and visiting with people.
A private family burial will be held on a later date at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
The arrangements are being handled by the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
