Betty Evans

Betty Kantner Evans, 64, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away Friday evening, December 3, 2010 at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima, Ohio. Betty was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio, September 18, 1946, to Grant and Dorothy Henderson Kantner. She married Gene Evans in Belle Center April 9, 1972, and worked as a laborer at Nash Finch. She was a member of New Richland Baptist Church, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her husband, Gene Evans; her mother, Dorothy Kantner of Wapakoneta; daughters Jodi (Harvey) Hites, Amy (Jeff) Clark; sons Benji Evans and Charlie Evans, all of Belle Center, and Chad (Tammy) Evans of Sidney, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren; her siblings Kathryn Norman, Gary Kantner, Fred Kantner, and Carol Copeland, all of Wapakoneta; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her father Grant Kantner and son Steve Evans.

The funeral service will be held at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center Thursday, December 9, 2010, at 11A.M. with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2010, from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.
