Biography

Betty J. Kennedy, 74, of Rushsylvania, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Heartland of Bellefontaine in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

She was born December 16, 1938 in Hardin County Ohio, to the late Harold and Gladys (Brooks) Farrington. She was also preceded in death by her husband Richard Kennedy September 18, 1994; a son, John Wilgus; and her siblings, Irene Grabiel, and James and Russell Farrington.

Surviving are two daughters, Tammy (Jeff) Saylor, and Kim Wilgus, both of Bellefontaine; a son, Kevin (Liz Parker) Wilgus of West Mansfield, Ohio; six grandchildren, Beth (Michael) Stachler, Chastity (Dean) Morris, Erica (David) Morris, Bo Wilgus, Curtis (Marianne) Wilgus and Mindy (Josh) Ray; thirteen great grandchildren; four brothers, Dallas Farrington of West Mansfield, Murl Farrington of Kenton, Ohio, Dick Farrington of Sandusky, Ohio, and Robert Farrington of Bellefontaine; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Donna Van Buskirk of Rushsylvania and Beverly Coleman of Florida.

Betty was a bus driver for the Benjamin Logan School District for forty four years and later worked at the former K&K Dairy Isle in Belle Center for almost twenty years.

She was a member of the United Wagon Train and the Central Ohio Wagon Train and enjoyed crocheting, working on puzzles and showing draft horses.

Pastor Gene Phelps will officiate the 11:00 A.M. funeral service Saturday, August 17, 2013, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, August 16, 2013. Interment will be at the Rushsylvania Cemetery in Rushsylvania, Ohio.
