Betty Jean Riley, age 86, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away Friday afternoon, August 15, 2014 at Green Hills Community in West Liberty.
She was born in West Liberty April 29, 1928, to the late Lloyd Schneider and Mildred (Ricketts) Tracy. Betty married Joseph Scott Riley October 6, 1945 in Urbana, Ohio, and he preceded her in death March 11, 2009. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Tracy; a step-son, Donald Riley; a step-daughter, Helen Moody and a granddaughter, Denise (Herron) Boggs.
Betty is survived by her children, Danny (Sue) Riley of South Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Linda (Keith) Stidham of Cable, Ohio, Carol (Jim) Huffman of Bellefontaine, Ohio and Chris (Paula) Riley of Alexandria, Kentycky; fourteen grandchildren, Craig Herron, Danielle Riley, Todd Young, Charly Riley, Cayman Riley, Donnie Riley, Lynn Cremeans, Rodney Riley, Scott Riley, Tammy Graham, Cindy Corwin, Debbie Riesinger, Mike Riesinger and Randy Moody; many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale (Joyce) Tracy of Bellefontaine and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Brown of Urbana, Ohio.
Betty was a homemaker and a member of the West Liberty United Church of Christ. She enjoyed playing Bingo, crocheting, reading books, traveling and spending time with her cat Cleo.
A memorial service for Betty will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014, at 10:30 A.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty, where visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.
