The family lost an angel and heaven got her back at 12:14 P.M. Sunday, May 7, 2017, when Betty B. Risner of Belle Center, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Hardin County Ohio March 24, 1931, to the late Odes and Mary (Apgar) Legge.
On May 17, 1946, Betty married Elmer J. Risner in Kenton, Ohio, and he preceded her in death in 1986. In 2005, she married Wayne Seeley who preceded her in death in 2006. She is survived by her special friend Dick Stanley of Belle Center. In addition to her late husbands, Betty was also preceded in death by her son, Mark Risner; a grandson, Dennis James Risner; two sisters, Imogene and Agnes; and three brothers, Carl, Donald, and Harold.
Betty is also survived by her daughter, Sandy Risner-Fay of Belle Center; two sons Doug (Myra) Risner of Kenton and Randy (Sheryl) Risner of Bellefontaine, Ohio; three grandsons, Doug (Mindy Oda) Risner Jr., Doni (Stacy) Risner, and Shawn Fay; four granddaughters, Dee (Robert Young) Siefker, Mindy (James) McGue, Danica (Joe) Moore, and Mackenzie Risner; five great granddaughters, six great grandsons; ten great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A member of the House of Prayer in Kenton, Betty had owned and operated Betty’s Country Inn from 1980 to 1988. She was very honored in 1981, when Governor Rhodes stopped in for coffee while working on his campaign trail. She later retired from Westinghouse in Bellefontaine.
Betty’s 'dash' was full of love and life and she never knew a stranger. Her hard-working fingers and hands crocheted a countless number of afghans. She enjoyed word search puzzles and 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles, and was gifted with the ability to plant and produce very plentiful vegetable gardens. She loved her Estee’ Lauder, especially the fragrance Beautiful. Betty was proud to have worked on the onion fields on the marsh in Hardin County, and instilled hard working traits in her family. She will be greatly missed during this separation, along with her homemade “tater soup with rivelets”.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 11, 2017, with Rev. Donald Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
The funeral arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center.
