Betty Jane Sargent

Betty Jane Sargent, age 88, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away at 3:50 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2021, at her home.

She was born in Bellefontaine November 10,1933, a daughter of the late Robert Benjamin and Ila Elizabeth (Clingerman) Yoder.

On May 27, 1953, Betty married Richard L. Sargent in Bellefontaine and he preceded her in death April 14, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her son, Rick Sargent and four brothers, Robert Yoder, Frederick Yoder, Ross Yoder, and Glenn Yoder.

Betty is survived by two sons, Dale Sargent and Chris Sargent, both of Bellefontaine; five grandchildren, John (Trina) Bishop of Gloucester, Virginia, Jorden (Truleigh) Sargent of Port Orange, Florida, Jamie (Charles) Thorman of Parrish, Florida, Traci (Antonio) Alicea of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Linsey Sargent of Salt Lake, Utah; five great grandchildren, Marinko Burich, Melina Burich, Luka Burich, Oliver Sargent, and Thomas Sargent; four step-grandchildren, Zoey Thorman, Zachary Thorman, Calib Thorman, and Shane Thorman and several nieces and nephews.

Betty was a homemaker and a member of O.E.S. Chapter #459 in Bellefontaine.

A private burial will be at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.

The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine is honored to serve the Sargent family.
