Betty Jean Schrader, 89, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away Wednesday morning April 19, 2017, at Campbell Place in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
Betty was born in Rushsylvania, Ohio April 9, 1928, to the late Myron “Bud” and Mabel (King) Hempy. She was also preceded in death by her son, Chris A. Schrader.
Betty married Allie H. Schrader September 25, 1948, in Belle Center and he survives. Betty is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Doug Henry of Middleburg, Ohio; a daughter-in-law Julie Schrader of Russells Point, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Nicole (Jamie) Schwieterman, Ryan (Erin) Schrader, Molly (Wes) Hall, Whitney Schrader, Heath Kindle, Kevin (Mary) Henry, Kiel (Megan) Henry, and Alex Henry; seven great-grandchildren, Sydney, Reed, Maddux, Cooper, Miller, Brock, and Elias; two brothers, AM (Connie) Hempy of Rushsylvania and Richard (Joy) Hempy of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews.
Betty worked as an Administrative Assistant for Logan County Job & Family Services for many years. She was a charter member of the Belle Center Kings Daughters, a sixty-year member of the Belle Center Eastern Star, past member of Belle Center Kiwanis and a member of the Belle Center United Methodist Church. Betty enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 23, 2017, from 2 to 5 P.M at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center and one hour prior to the funeral on Monday. Pastor Kevin Smith will officiate the funeral service Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
