Mr. Billy Ray Cowan, age 57, went to be with the Lord February 15, 2018, at approximately 4:47 P.M. Mr. Cowan was born in South Dakota June 16, 1960, to the late Billy Ray English and Gladys Berle (Cowan) Cunningham.
Also preceding Biliy in death was an adopted mother of more than thirty years, Janice E. Kenner; a step-son, Jayson Sims; favorite uncles, Winnie Cowan, Charles Cowan, and Walter Cowan; brothers, Larry L. Banks, Preston W. Cunningham, William Young, and Billy Ray English Jr.
Billy was married to Lori (Sims) Cowan and she survives. He also leaves behind to cherish his precious memory a daughter, Jessica M. Cowan Reynolds of Lima, Ohio; three grandchildren, Kiarra Cowan, Ahonesty Reynolds, and Anthony Reynolds; a brother, Norman Cunningham of Lima; his step-mother, Cardella Cunningham of Florence, Alabama; sisters, Barbara Geirger of Cridersville, Ohio, Florence Denise Dukes, Laura (Willie) Thomas, Della (Cedric) Bradford, Claudia English, and Mary (Larry) Fisher, all of Lima, Denise English of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Antonio Cunningham of Lima and Joanne Howard, a special cousin/sister.
Billy also leaves to mourn his passing an adopted father, Abraham Kenner of thirty four years; siblings, Donald Kenner, Anthony Kenner, Vanessa (George) Hunter, Sheila Whetsel, and Blake Kenner; thirteen nieces and nephews; nine great nieces and nephews, all of Bellefontaine and a very special friend, Wendy Craig.
Mr. Cowan worked at Belletech for twenty years and most recently for Midwest Express. He was a member of the Greater Christ Temple Church for thirty four years. Billy is a special part of the Kenner family. He loved sports, to the point of keeping stats for The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds, and San Francisco 49 ers games. He loved cars and identifying the year, model, and make. Billy was extra ordinary, and his smile and laugh will be missed by all.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 2 to 3 P.M. at the Christ Our King Church in Bellefontaine.
Blake Kenner will officiate the funeral service immediately following the visitation at 3:00 P.M. at the church.
A graveside service will take place Monday, February 26, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Bellefontaine Cemetery.
The funeral arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
