Billy Maynard

Billy Maynard, 79, of Lakeview, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on October 16, 1929, in Kermit, West Virginia to the late Carl and Ethel (Davis) Maynard.

In April of 1949, he married Lucille Quinn in Indiana, and she preceded him in death in November of 1977. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Betty Cunningham.

He married his second wife, Leona (Beegel) Hockett, on July 2, 1982, in Fountain Point, Arizona, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Ronald (Julie) Maynard of New Carlisle, Ohio, and Curtis Maynard of Scottsdale, Arizona; one daughter, Linda (Mike) Downie of Troy, Michigan; two step-sons, Steven (Debbie) Hockett of Springfield, Ohio, and Mike Hockett of Lakeview, Ohio; three step-daughters, Gwen (Rob) Robinson of Senecaville, Ohio, Sherry Brammer of Dayton, Ohio, and Vicky (Dave) Leherbauer of Oshawa, Ontario, Canada; three sisters, Geneva (Bob) Clay of South Carolina, Clara Rose Williams of Crown Point, Ohio, and Frieda (Gary) Clark of Florida; fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 25, 2009, at the Sanford-Eichholtz Funeral Home in Lakeview, Ohio, with Rev. Randy Warner officiating.
