Billy Rutherford

Biography

Billy Rutherford, 82, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Friday October 21, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Sydney, West Virginia on July 28, 1934 to the late Spence and Emma (Jackson) Rutherford. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Wallace, Johnny and Jack Rutherford and a sister, Charlotte Mills.

On January 28, 1959 in New Hampshire, Ohio, he married the former Frances McColloch and she survives along with sons, Greg (Barbara) Rutherford, Duane (Marla) Rutherford, Doug (Sheila) Rutherford and John (Mary Beth) Rutherford.; grandchildren, Joshua, Dustin, Ross, Sarah Owens, Heather, Brandon, Megan and Blake; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joe Donald Rutherford.

Billy attended Calvary Baptist Church, Bellefontaine and also the Oakview Baptist Church in Okeechobee, Florida. He was an avid fisherman and OSU Buckeye Fan. He was also a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive and Engineers and the Friendly Senior Center.

Pastor Jeffory Willetts will officiate a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1140 Rush Avenue, Bellefontaine where visitation will be from 5- 8 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016. Burial will be at the Bellefontaine Cemetery.
