Caille Florine Steadman, 91, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011 at her residence. She was born November 14, 1919 in Mississippi, the daughter of the late Willie A. and Caille Irene (Sims) Franks.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Ellis Whitley; a son, Marlin Gene Whitley; two grandchildren, Leeann Buchleitner and Tammy Marie Buchleitner; three brothers, Austin, Eugene, and J.W. Franks, and two sisters, Ima Jean Spredlin and Shirley Posey.
She is survived by her son, Robert Dale Whitley of Arkansas and two daughters, Linda Buchleitner of West Liberty and Brenda (Ken) Tan of San Diego, California; grandchildren, LaWanda Campbell of West Liberty, Justin Keith Campbell of Texas, Jennifer L. Black of Urbana, Ohio, Tammy Whitely of Tennessee, Robert Whitley, Jr. of Arkansas, Brenda Whitley, Tama Whitley, Sayho Tan and Jessica Tan, all of California; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was a long time member of the United Methodist Church and spent her past time sewing, embroidering, and crocheting. She loved to draw and enjoyed poetry. She was a very spirited lady who loved to fly on airplanes, planting, gardening, and watching western movies on television.
The funeral service will be held Friday, July 1, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the Kauffman-Eichholtz Funeral Home in West Liberty, with Pastor David Brown of the Kingscreek United Methodist Church officiating. Calling hours will be held Thursday, June 30, 2011, from 2 to 4 P.M., and 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home in West Liberty. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.
