Calvin M. Caldwell, 84, of Bellefontaine passed away Tuesday morning, January 19, 2016 at Green Hills Care Center. He was born in Crawford County, Ohio on August 7, 1931 to the late Harry and Ruth (Beal) Caldwell.
On December 21, 1956, he married Charlotte M. Grimes in West Liberty and she preceded him in death on October 16, 2010. He was also preceded in death by sisters Mary Eva Skinner and Eleanor Froebe, brother James Caldwell and daughter-in-law Mary Beth Caldwell.
Calvin retired from National Extrusion after 34 years of service. He also operated Caldwell’s Hatchery with his family in Bellefontaine for many years. Calvin was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bellefontaine and the Bellefontaine Masonic Lodge #209 F&AM, Past High Priest #60 and Past Elective Council #85.
Calvin is survived by a daughter, Linda Kay (Lavoy) Thompson of North Lewisburg; son Curtis Neal Caldwell of Springfield, Illinois; granddaughters Rachel Caldwell and Courtney Caldwell; a sister Beatrice Froebe of Bellefontaine; and several nieces and nephews.
Pastor H. Kearns will officiate the funeral service on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine at 12noon. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral with a masonic service at 11am. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
