Carl Marvin Cantrell, 73, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, formerly of Santa Clarita, California, went home to be with Jesus, Saturday, February 21, 2009, due to natural causes after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, January 4, 1936. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nora Lynch and Arthur Cantrell, his sisters, Blanche, Dorothy, Margie and Bonnie and brothers, Russell and Frank. He is survived by his brother, Clyde, of California and a sister, Helen, of Florida. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Carla (Robbie Holsinger) Cantrell of Stout, Ohio, and Gina Boyd of Bellefontaine; 4 grandchildren, Teahl (Miranda) Cantrell of Blue Creek, Ohio, Megan (Michael Wilson) Murry of Bellefontaine, Shyler Cantrell of Stout, and Jordan Murry of Bellefontaine; 3 great grandchildren, Danren Cantrell, Conner Wilson and Roschelle Cantrell and numerous other relatives.
He was a Marine veteran of the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1957 with the rank of Sergeant. He retired from the U.S. Post Office after 25 years.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. The funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home. Interment will be in the McKendree Cemetery in Stout, Ohio, at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 27, 2009.
