Carl E. Stevenson, age 89, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine Thursday, September 18, 2014.

He was born June 28, 1925 in Kenton, Ohio, to the late William Scott and Mary Ethel (Shough) Stevenson.

In November 1959, he married the former Paulette Dutremez, and she preceded him in death January 9, 2003. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Amerine.

Surviving are his children, Carletta Stevenson and Kim (Brenda) Stevenson, both of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Sarah Stevenson, Rebecca, Matthew, Christopher and Nicholas Beasley; step grandchildren, Kayti and Jackie Miller; great grandchildren, Kaylee Dickinson and Houlden Wilson; step great grandchildren, Camryn and Kalen; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Donald Carothers of Bellefontaine.

Carl had worked for the railroad for over twenty years and was a United States Navy Veteran serving in World War II. He enjoyed woodworking, building things around his house, working and fixing lawn mowers and watching old western movies. He loved to bird watch and spend time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Pastor Ed Beale will officiate a 10:00 A.M. memorial service at the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine Friday, September 26, 2014. There will be a 1:00 P.M. graveside service at the Sieg Cemetery in Hardin County Ohio with full military rites by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard Friday following the service.

The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine assisted the family with the arrangements.
