Carl E. Wallace, 74, of Huntsville, Ohio, passed away at 4:10 A.M. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Green Hills Community in West Liberty, Ohio.
He was born in Huntsville, Ohio October 18, 1938, to the late Daniel Alvin and Martha (Herren) Wallace. On May 25, 1958, he married the former Sybil Kennedy and she survives.
He is also survived by his daughter, Terri (Jeff) Steiner of West Liberty; a son, Rod (Bettina) Wallace of Bellefontaine, Ohio; five grandchildren, Randy (Colleen) Wallace of Bellefontaine, Daniel (Sherri) Wallace of Columbus, Ohio, LeAnn (Andrew) Brunson of Bellefontaine; Timothy Steiner and Andrew Steiner, both of Oklahoma; three step-grandchildren, Angela (Earl) Jenkins of LaRue, Ohio, Rebecca (Nick) Seig of Bellefontaine and Jayne “Abbie” (James) Jones of Huntsville; thirteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia (Junior) Hulbert of Bellefontaine, Mildred Shepard of Tennessee and Carol Graham of Bellefontaine; three sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Wallace of Huntsville, Patricia Wallace of Bellefontaine and Betty Wallace of Huntsville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a step-grandson Billy Jenkins, a sister, Dorothy Taylor, three brothers Robert, Max and Don Wallace, and his step-mother, Florence Wallace.
Carl retired from Super Foods in Bellefontaine, where he had worked as a high-lift operator. He was a member of the Huntsville United Methodist Church and the Teamsters Union, Local 908. Carl loved working in his yard and playing golf. He was a charter member of the Cherokee Hills Golf Course and won several local golf tournaments.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate the funeral service at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at the Huntsville United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Ohio. Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 11, 2013, from 5 to 7 P.M. at the church. Interment will be at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.
The funeral arrangements were in the care of the staff of the Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home in Lakeview, Ohio.
