Carlyle C. Davis, 90, of rural Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed peacefully to his heavenly home at 8:05 A.M. Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at the home of his daughter, Jeanette in Columbus, Ohio, with his daughters, Jeanette and Christine, at his side.
He was born March 19, 1923, near DeGraff, Ohio the son of the late Ottis Henson Davis and Edna (Keysor) Davis. He married Nelva McIntosh December 22, 1951, who preceded him in death September 6, 2011. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Rose Cutchen.
Survivors include his beloved children, Christine (Doyle) Hartman of Delaware, Ohio, Christopher (Valerie) Davis of West Mansfield, Ohio, Jeanette Davis of Columbus, Ohio and Daniel (Carol) Davis of Brownstown, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Janelle, Jason and Ryan Hartman and Elizabeth, Catherine, AhnaMarie and Abigail Davis; a nephew, Larry Graham and other nieces and nephews; several cousins, including Betty Park Bishop and Koneta Swink Campbell.
Carlyle graduated in 1941 from Blume High School in Wapakoneta, Ohio. He retired from Siemens in 1985 after thirty four years of service.
A Veteran of the United Sates Army, he served at Camp McCoy in Wisconsin as a meat and dairy inspector. He was a former member of the West Mansfield Friends and Bellefontaine First Friends Churches and in recent years attended the Zanesfield Community Chapel.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Zanesfield Community Chapel Friday, January 31, 2014. Pastor Keith Matthews will officiate an 11 A.M. funeral service Saturday, February 1, 2014, at the church where visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at the York Cemetery in York Center, Ohio.
The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine assisted the family with the arrangements.
