Carolyn Rehm

Carolyn Rose Rehm, age 98, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away Wednesday morning, July 16, 2014 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

She was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio March 17, 1916, to the late Henry and Matilda (Erbe) Schaal. She married George Rehm October 6, 1940, and he preceded her in death in 1955. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Delman.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Betty (Philip) Fawcett of DeGraff, Ohio; sons, George W. (Cathy) Rehm of Cannon Falls, Minnesota and John E. (Marilyn) Rehm of Millersburg, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Andy Rehm, Jery Rehm, Katie McCormick, Karen Laidlaw, Carol Toohey, Dale Rehm and David Fawcett; nine great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ralph Schaal of Dublin, Ohio, Don Schaal of Rayland, Ohio, Gene Schaal of St. Clairsville, Ohio and James Schaal of Cleveland, Ohio.

A former resident of St. Clairsville, Carolyn had been a resident of Bellefontaine and West Liberty for twenty seven years. She worked as a sales clerk at several department stores. Carolyn enjoyed gardening and quilting and was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Bellefontaine.

Pastor Jonathan Bull will officiate the funeral service Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home 204 West Main St. in St. Clairsville, Ohio where visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. Interment will be at the Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville.

The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty assisted the family with the arrangements.
