Carolyn F. Stoner

July 18, 1932 — April 15, 2024

Carolyn F. Stoner

Carolyn Fay (Momyer) Stoner joined her Heavenly Father and beloved husband, Andy on April 14, 2024, at her daughter Renae’s residence in Marysville, Ohio.

Carolyn was born the second of six daughters to John and Anna Mae (Smith) Momyer on July 18, 1932, in Wyano, Pennsylvania.  She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Bolton Stoner, her parents; sisters: Millie (James) Roll, Catherine (Glenn) Crise, Connie Hernandez; brother-in-law James Stoner; and sister-in-law Anne (Dick) Hoyle.

Carolyn is survived and remembered as a loving wife to Andy.  Carolyn and Andy met on a blind date arranged by his sister Anne and were married on April 24, 1954.  They celebrated their 69th Wedding Anniversary in 2013.

She will be remembered as a loving, wise and patient mother by her four children: Keith (Donna Hemphill) Stoner, John (Lisa Sanders) Stoner, Renae (Dwight) Carnes and Jim (Amy Clawson) Stoner.  She leaves behind fifteen grandchildren: Aryn (Andy) Forsythe, Isaac (Catherine) Stoner, Miriam Stoner, Tom (Michelle) Stoner, Tim (Molly) Sanders, Courtney (Zach) Reynolds, Andrew (Grandpa Andy’s namesake) Stoner, Micah Stoner, Jonathon Stoner, Justin (Lauren) Kempfer, Joshua (Rachel) Carnes, Justin (Courtney) Carnes, Jameson (Cass) Stonehaus, Jacob (Monee) Stoner, and Jessica Stoner; seventeen great-grandchildren: Johnston Davis “J.D.” Forsythe, Carolyn (Grandma’s namesake) Forsythe, Mariah Stoner, Alivia Stoner, Aria Stoner, Rhett Reynolds, Abby Reynolds, Arrow Sanders, Rowan Sanders, Iyla Sanders, Grace Carnes, Raylan Carnes, Jasper Carnes,  Jameson Carnes, Dominic Stoner, Aidyn Stoner, and Quinn Stonehaus.  She is remembered by sisters and brothers-in-law, Myrtle Momyer, Marcia and Neal Varner, and Rich Hernandez

Carolyn lived a life of service — to her God, her Nation, her Family, her community of Logan County, and her community of Rushsylvania.  Carolyn chose a career as a stay-at-home Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma for her whole life.  Many folks in Logan County and Rushsylvania were blessed by her skills in babysitting and baking.

Carolyn was a member of the Rushsylvania United Methodist Church, its choir, the United Methodist Women’s Circle, Rushsylvania Rhoda Circle, Logan County Historical Society, and the Logan County Fair Bureau.  Their marriage was a partnership and where Andy was involved, Carolyn was also involved - spending the whole week at the Fair, traveling to Scout camp for visits, providing meals, cookies and treats in all areas of Andy and Carolyn’s busy lives.  Carolyn was the best cinnamon and pepperoni roll, cake, pie, candy, and cookie maker/baker in Logan County (we are prejudiced, but ask anyone who knew her).

Andy and Carolyn were residents of Rushsylvania from 1966 to 2009, until they moved to Marysville, Ohio, to live with Renae’s family.  Carolyn lived with Renae from 2009 to the present.  She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Smithton, Pennsylvania, until marrying Andy.  She and Andy were members of the United Methodist Church in Rushsylvania, Ohio, for the majority of their married life.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Ohio’s Hospice Loving Care (779 London Avenue, Marysville, OH  43040), the Rushsylvania United Methodist Church (152 Rush St, Rushsylvania, OH 43347), or the Bible Baptist Church (16435 Square Dr. Marysville, OH 43040).

Visitation is from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by the funeral at 1:00 pm, Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Bible Baptist Church in Marysville.  Burial will be at a later date in the Rushsylvania Cemetery.
