Catherine G. Amerine, 82, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine. She was born December 30, 1928 in Logan County, Ohio, to the late Pearl C. and Bessie (LeVan) Foreman.
On November 4, 1944, she married Amos T. Amerine in Bellefontaine and he preceded her in death in 1994. Also proceeding her in death were 2 infant sons, Richard and Marvin Amerine; her siblings, LeRoy Foreman, Eva Austin and Alberta Arnett.
Surviving is a son, Kevin Amerine of Bellefontaine; daughters, Janet “Elaine” (Jeff) King of East Liberty, Ohio and Marjorie (Mike) Stemen of Brandon, Mississippi; her siblings, Lewis (Pat) Foreman of Anderson, Indiana and Phyllis Miller of Troy, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Merrick (Rachel) Stemen and Matthew Stemen, Jeremy and James Reames and Jaime Frazier; 5 great grandchildren, Geoffrey, Meredith, Cameron and Audrey Stemen and Lukas Reames; and several nieces and nephews.
Catherine worked for Carpenter’s Greenhouse and later for Wren’s Florist. She was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church and the Logan County Senior Center. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening and her flowers.
Pastor Daniel McCarty will officiate the 11:00 A.M. funeral service Friday, December 23, 2011 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, December 22, 2011. Interment will be at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.
