Catherine Douglas

Catherine L. “Katie” Douglas, 82, of DeGraff passed away at 8:10 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014 at her home. She was born in Logan County, Ohio on March 26, 1932 to the late Clarence L. and Carrie E. (Gates) Thomas. On March 30, 1952 she married Stephen A. Douglas and he preceded her in death on September 27, 1998. Her grandson, David, and step-mother, Leona Snapp Thomas, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her four daughters; Vickie Douglas of Columbus, Karen Kelly of South Carolina, Jane (John) Ernst of Loveland and Janet Accuntius of Sidney, six grandchildren; one great grandson; a sister Jean (Ray) Headings of Bellefontaine; two brothers, Robert E. (Viola) Thomas and William (Catherine) Snapp, both of California; and a sister-in-law Ann Snapp of Urbana.

Catherine was a retired school bus driver for Riverside High School. She was a member of the DeGraff United Methodist Church, Logan County Farm Bureau and Red Hat Society. She also volunteered at the Bellefontaine Senior Center and served as a 4-H advisor with the DeGraff Willing Workers for 25 years.

Pastor Carolyn Christman will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the DeGraff United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4th from 4-8 p.m. at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street, DeGraff, Ohio. Burial will be in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff.
