Chalmer L. “Chet” Crisp, 74, of Bellefontaine and formerly of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away at 5:36 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Heartland of Indian Lake. He was born in Rowan County, Kentucky on March 27, 1941 to the late Estill S. and Lila Ethel (Lewis) Crisp.
On May 10, 1980, Chet married the former Ruth Angle in Apopka, Florida, and she preceded him in death on January 11, 2013.
Chet is survived by his children; Rita Wilson, Barbara Vayda, Clint Higginbotham, Jeff Crisp, Keith Crisp and Mark Crisp; 13 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.
A member of the New Canaan Baptist Church in Cartersville, Georgia, Chet was a jack of all trades and master of all. He worked as a master mechanic and master woodworker. He loved to fish, cook and spend time with his family at cookouts.
A memorial service to celebrate Chet’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Burial will be at a later date.
