Charles C. “Chuck” Hursh, age 61 of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Heartland of Bellefontaine.
He was born April 8, 1956 in Middletown, Ohio, a son of the late Clayton C. and Mary Jane (Roof) Hursh.
Chuck is survived by his sons, Brooks (Ashley) Hursh of Marysville, Ohio, Jordan Hursh of DeGraff, Ohio and their mother, Marge Hursh of DeGraff; a grandson, Pierson Harper Hursh; a sister, Cheryl (Bob) Mitchell of Bellefontaine; a brother, Christopher (Angela) Hursh of Cincinnati, Ohio; a nephew, Bob (Laura) Mitchell, Jr. of Bellefontaine; nieces, Christi (Wes) Dodds of Bellefontaine and LilyAna and Elizabeth Hursh both of Cincinnati and a great niece and nephew, Laney and Blaine Mitchell. Chuck is also survived by his girlfriend, Deborah Wagy.
Chuck lived in Middletown, Ohio until his family moved to Bellefontaine in 1963. He loved baseball and golf while he was growing up. In high school, he was very active in the Order of DeMolay, a Masonic organization for boys. He graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1974 and worked at City Market IGA as a meat cutter for a short time after his graduation. He then went to work at DAB where he was a skilled tool and die maker for thirty years. After the plant closed he went to work at UltraMet in Urbana, Ohio.
Chuck never met a stranger. He was a very caring and loving person and would do anything to help out his family and friends. He loved spending time outdoors, enjoyed playing baseball, softball, golfing, hunting, fishing, and cooking. He especially loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He enjoyed working on his cars and motorcycles and was a big NASCAR fan. Chuck’s greatest love was spending time with his family and friends.
Pastor Ben Shaeffer will officiate the 3:00 P.M. funeral service Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine, where visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at the Bellefontaine Cemetery in Bellefontaine.
The Hursh family requests casual attire for those attending Chuck’s service and visitation.
