He was born in 1919 to the late Donald and Alcie (Allen) Kerns. Chuck married the former Maxine Pickering on August 18, 1940; she preceded him in death in February of 2004. He was also preceded in death by a son Jeffery Kerns, and three brothers: Donald, Sidney, and Gene Kerns.

Chuck was active in sports and graduated from Belle Center High School. He was manager of the Belle Center Water Department for 20 years. He then worked as a machinist at Rockwell in Kenton until his retirement in 1980. He was an avid outdoorsman, expert gardener, and legendary storyteller. Chuck dearly loved his children and grandchildren and faithfully supported them in all their sporting events and academics. He was a member of the Belle Center United Presbyterian Church.

Friends and family will gather at noon, April 1, at the Memorial Building in Belle Center. We will celebrate by sharing stories of Chuck’s many April Fool’s Day pranks and other adventures!
