Charles David Kotterman, 79, of Belle Center passed away Saturday evening, December 31, 2016 unexpectedly at his home.
Charlie was born in Bellefontaine on November 7, 1937 to the late David S. and Mildred (Smith) Kotterman.
A veteran of the US Army, Charlie served six months of active duty and was a reserve for an additional six years. He was a lifelong farmer and had a collection of John Deere engines, literature and toys. Charlie served as a Richland Township Trustee for 20 years and was a board member of the BMRT Regional Ambulance District for 20 years. He also sold machinery for eleven years and operated a welding shop. Charlie enjoyed dancing with the ladies and was a member of Belle Center United Methodist Church.
Charlie is survived by a sister Nancy Mills of Wooster; nephews Kenny (Lisa) Mills of Howard, Ohio and Glenn (Gaye) Mills of Celina, and nieces Nina (Bill) Orem of Wooster and Rita (Don) Gasser of Shreve.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:30am at Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center with Pastor Kevin Smith officiating. Immediately after the graveside service, a Celebration of Charlie’s life will be held at the Belle Center United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
The Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center handled funeral arrangements.
