Charles Fredrick Krouskop, 88, of Russells Point, Ohio passed away Sunday morning, November 18, 2012 of a tired heart. He was born in Russells Point August 6, 1924, to the late Herman Robert and Nellie Mildred Wolfe Krouskop.

In his younger days, Charles played the accordion, tap danced and spent many summers at the Amusement Park Dance Hall. He was a 1942 graduate of Dayton Roosevelt High School and attended Ohio University, Indiana University and the University of Cincinnati, before graduating in 1949 from Miami Jacobs College in Dayton, Ohio. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served with the 780th Amphibian Tank Battallion in Lyte, Okinawa and Luzon campaigns.

Charles married the former Eunice Alene Cary April 6, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky at the Parkland Baptist Church, and she survives in Russells Point. Also surviving are their children, Alanel (Duane) Kreusch and Fritz C. (Janet) Krouskop; grandson Steve (Jaime) Spofford II; great-granddaughter Lindsey Spofford and great-grandson Steve Spofford III.

Charles retired in 1988 from the Farmers Banking Company in Lakeview, Ohio after thirty six years of service. Very active in the county, Charles was a Past Master of the Indian Lake Masonic Lodge #722 where he was a 60 plus year member, and was a member of the following; Order of Eastern Star Chapter #459 in Bellefontaine, Ohio, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite – Valley of Dayton, Antioch Temple – A.A.O.N.M.S. Dayton, Ohio, Antioch Shrine Funster Clown Unit in Hunstville, Ohio, where he was Past President, Secretary and Treasurer, and was "honored" to have been chosen as the 2005 Antioch Shrine Temple Clown of the Year, the Logan County Shrine Club, a charter member of the Indian Lake B.P.O.E. #2792, the Indian Lake Fraternal Order of Eagles #3615, Indian Lake Royal Order of Moose #1533, Doyle R. Miller Post of AmVets #39, Roundhead Post #8832 V.F.W., Indian Lake Fish & Game, Logan County Historical Society (Krouskop is a first family of Logan County), Mary Rutan Hospital Guild, the Bellefontaine Friendly Senior Citizens Center, and the Indian Lake Community Church.

In his spare time, Charles enjoyed art and was a member of the Logan County Art League. He also enjoyed square dancing, Hi Point See Saws, crafts, fishing, camping, traveling, music, making bread, playing the dulcimer and entertaining.

Pastor Karen Blackburn will officiate the funeral service Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 12 noon at the Myron Van Horn Chapel of Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home in Lakeview, Ohio. Interment will be at the Hunstville Cemetery In Huntsville, Ohio with military honors provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard. Calling hours are Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 6 to 8 P.M. where Masonic Services will be held at 7:45 P.M.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children in Lexington, Kentucky.
