Charles Sternberg

Charles D. Sternberg (Chuck), 71, of Bellefontaine passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at the Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Syracuse, New York on September 5, 1943 to the late Junior and Corinne (Shavalier) Sternberg. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his sister, Constance Jo .

Chuck is survived by his wife Shirley of 53 years. He is also survived by his six children; Robert (Cathy), Dave (Danielle), Leanne (James), Raelyn (Michael), Kimberly (Daryl) and Janine (George); 21 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and five siblings, Cheryl, Cynthia, Christine, Craig and Carl.

A 1960 graduate of Chittenango Central High School, Chuck furthered his education by obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University and Master’s Degree from Stanford University. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He had also served as an Adjunct Professor at several American universities and authored several computer books. As a civilian, he was a successful executive in the computer industry. Chuck enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and especially loved coaching soccer. He attended St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russells Point and St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine. Chuck was a loving husband, Father and Grandfather and will be missed greatly.

There will be a funeral service at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral. Burial will be at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.
