Charles R. “Chuck” Temple, of rural Bellefontaine, Ohio died in Christ Friday, May 19, 2017 at the age of 73.

He was born February 23, 1944 in Delaware, Ohio, a son of Wayland H. Temple and Mildred L. Fisher Temple.

Survivors include his beloved wife of fifty two years, Mary Hickman Temple; four children, Krista (Jim) Alexander of Lexington, Ohio, Karmen (Terry) Kirkpatrick of Huntsville, Ohio, Richard (Jennifer) Temple of Emerald Isle, North Carolina and Rachel LaWarre of North Lewisburg, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Nick (Nicole) Alexander, Brody (Kristen) Alexander, Kyle Alexander, Lauren Alexander, Sarah Kirkpatrick, Simon Kirkpatrick, Sam Kirkpatrick, Cody Temple and Andrew Temple; a great grandson, Emmett Alexander, and a brother, Fred (Anna) Temple of Waldo, Ohio.

Chuck served as pastor of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship for thirty years and assistant pastor for an additional six and a half years.  He served on the board of New Path Pregnancy Resource Center (formerly Hi-Point Women’s Center) for thirty years.  He held a deep concern for the endangered unborn and worked to help abortion minded mothers find new hope in Christ and to make a decision to carry their baby to a full term pregnancy.

Chuck’s closing words to family and friends are as follows:  The Lord provided for me a wonderful family and many dear friends.  I always thanked God for each one of you.  I was blessed to experience salvation at the age of 27 through repenting for my sins and declaring my trust in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.  This was all because of God’s enabling grace.  He has provided for me a wonderful life of experiencing His goodness.  Now I am in His presence in a manner long hoped for, and I appeal to all of you to stay on or to take the path of salvation that I have walked with my Creator.  He will also delight in being faithful to each of you as He has been and continues to be to me.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 26, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Bellefontaine.  Pastor Eric Cook will officiate the funeral service Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 10 A.M. at the church.  Burial will be at the Bellefontaine Cemetery in Bellefontaine.

The funeral arrangements are under the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
