Charles A. Wrobel, 77, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012 at his home. He was born in Dillonvale, Ohio April 30, 1935, to the late Victor and Pauline (Figurski) Wrobel. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Rose Ptacnik of Garfield Heights, Ohio and a brother, Victor Wrobel of Dillonvale, Ohio.
Chuck is survived by his children, Stephanie Wrobel-Smith of Nashville, Tennessee, Charles D. Wrobel of Los Angeles, California and Kathleen Wilson of Belle Center, Ohio; three grandchildren, Catherine, Stuart Elizabeth and Kason; siblings Ann Hutkay of Dillonvale, Ohio, Edward Wrobel of Parma, Ohio, Phyllis (Frank) Santa of Dillonvale, Ohio and Richard (Jeanie) Wrobel of Brainerd, Minnesota, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Chuck was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force. Following twenty one years of service to his country, he worked at DAB in Bellefontaine, where he retired in 2001 after nearly thirty years. He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bellefontaine, the Bellefontaine Moose Lodge, Eagles and VFW. Chuck had a passion for sports, playing golf, old cars and westerns. His greatest love was his family and friends. His love of laughter will be missed.
Calling hours will be held at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 4 to 6 P.M., with a memorial service at 6 P.M. conducted by Deacon Harold Dipple. Military honors will be provided by the Logan County Veteran Honor Guard. A memorial Funeral Mass will be held in Dillonvale at the St. Adalbert Catholic Church Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. John Kolesar presiding. Interment will follow the Mass in the St. Adalbert Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Vincent De Paul Society or the American Heart Association.
