Cheryl Lynn Armentrout

Cheryl Lynn (Lantz) Armentrout, 78, of Sandusky, Ohio and formerly of West Liberty, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at her home in Sandusky.

She was born in Columbus, Ohio on June 30, 1946, the daughter of the late James Alfred and Carolyn Agnes “Connie” (Buckwalter) Lantz.

On August 18, 1968, she married the love of her life, Thomas Eugene “Tom” Armentrout and he preceded her in death in August of 1978. Tom had been the Associate Pastor at Clifton Avenue Church of God in Springfield, Ohio at the time of his death. 

Tom and Cheryl were the parents of three children, Jeffrey (Karen) Armentrout of Pleasant Hill, OH, Carrie Lynn Armentrout (deceased), and Brandy Dappert of Sandusky, OH, and sister of Jeff, Carrie, and Brandy, Tara (Reggie) Greene of Miami, Florida. Also surviving are grandchildren, Conner and Thomas Dappert, Zachary (Alexandra) Armentrout, Levi (Kasey) Armentrout, Nathaniel, Suzanne, Sharon, Kelly, Kyleigh, and Caleb Armentrout, and one great-granddaughter Merida Armentrout. She also leaves behind her sisters, Laurie (Dan) Park, Marcia (Ron) Wenger, brother James (Nick) Lantz, and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her husband and daughter, Carrie Lynn, Cheryl was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tiffany Armentrout.

Cheryl was a 1964 graduate of West Liberty-Salem High School and a 1972 graduate of Anderson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She later obtained her master’s from Ball State University and taught elementary school for over 30 years, ultimately retiring from West Liberty-Salem. Cheryl was affiliated most recently with Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene.

Pastor Cora Freeh will officiate a graveside service in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
